Grade Recovery Group: catch up on missing work and raise your grades.
A small live group for students in grades 7 to 12 who are behind on work or want a better grade. Only 8 seats. Starts Sunday, Nov 1.
There is still plenty of semester left to fix a grade.
Most stuck grades come down to a few things: work that never got turned in, points nobody asked about, and no idea what to do first. Students usually know something is off. They just do not know where to start.
In this small live group, students work on their own grades with a certified executive function coach. Each Sunday they work through real assignments with a coach on the call and a few other students beside them. By week four they own their grade recovery process.
Real work, with a coach beside you
This is not a lecture. Students spend the hour working on their own classes.
Individual grades are never discussed in front of the group. Each student works on their own screen.
The four Sundays
| DATE | WHAT WE DO |
|---|---|
| Sun, Nov 1 | Get started. Students see where each class stands and start on their first assignment. |
| Sun, Nov 8 | Pick up speed. Students take on more work and learn to plan their time. |
| Sun, Nov 15 | Handle the harder parts. What to do when a teacher says no, or does not answer. |
| Sun, Nov 22 | Take the lead. Students own their grade recovery process, then set a goal for the rest of the semester. |
Sundays 6:30 to 7:30 PM Central, live on video. Cameras on, so we can work alongside each other. Students can answer in the chat as well as out loud.

What we ask of every family
Grade Recovery Group works when every student is fully here. You will confirm these when you reserve a seat.
Your student will
- Join from a computer or tablet, not a phone, with their camera on
- Be in a quiet spot, free of distractions
- Have Zoom installed and tested
- Be logged in to their school portals by 6:25 PM
- Have any folders, notebooks, or materials they need for missing work or upcoming quizzes and tests
- Come ready to learn and give the whole hour their undivided attention
A safe place to work
Students speak kindly, follow directions, and help keep the group a safe place for everyone to work. If a student is disruptive, I will give a quiet reminder first. If it continues, I will contact you so we can make a plan together. If it still cannot be worked out, your student will be removed from the remaining sessions. Fees are not refunded for a student who is removed.
Reserve a seat
Enrollment closes Wed, Oct 28. Limited to 8 students. The group runs with 3 or more.
If fewer than 3 students enroll, I will move the start date or offer 1:1 sessions, and your payment is refunded in full if that does not work for you.
Questions parents ask
Who is it for?Students in grades 7 to 12 who have missing work or a grade they want to bring up. A parent enrolls the student. The student does the work.
Do I need to be there? No. Your job is to support, not to sit in. Please stay nearby for younger students.
Will my student be put on the spot? No. Grades are never said out loud, and students can answer in the chat.
What are the weekly texts? Each Sunday your student picks one goal for the week from their grade recovery plan, like finishing a missing assignment or emailing a teacher. On Thursday I text them a quick check-in: how is it going, and can they send a screenshot showing it is done? You agree to the texts when you enroll, and you can reply STOP at any time.
Will it raise my student’s grade?I cannot promise a grade. Every teacher sets their own rules for late work and redos. This group teaches students how to ask well and follow through.
Is it therapy or tutoring? No. It is educational coaching in executive function skills for school tasks.
Natalie Micheel, Certified Executive Function Coach
Natalie coaches students from middle school through college in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Her focus is school tasks: planning, organizing, self-advocacy, task initiation, goal setting, time management, evaluating priorities, homework follow-through, and grade recovery.
